As IIENetwork members continue to face challenging decisions and an uncertain academic year ahead, the need to share information, data, and on-the-ground perspectives could not be more important. The new IIENetwork Briefing Series seeks to provide our members with helpful information and relevant case studies, and to showcase the innovative work being done across member organizations and institutions. The first in this series is Reopening International Exchange: The World is More Open Than You Think, a global snapshot with information and updates concerning the international exchange world. The paper draws from on-the-ground perspectives from the top 15 countries sending international students to the United States, and provides information about visa issuance, entrance exam testing, and airport status. The publication also includes updates on the U.S. Department of State’s Fulbright and Gilman programs, as well as several National Security Education Program initiatives.
