PRESTASI III was administered by IIE on behalf of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). It was made possible with the support from the American people and by USAID. The Institute of International Education managed the program through its office in Washington, DC, in coordination with the Indonesian International Education Foundation (IIEF) in Jakarta.
USAID, the American government’s lead foreign assistance agency, provides a range of education training opportunities for Indonesians. The breadth of U.S.-supported education programs is reflective of the deep ties and close collaboration between the two nations. Since 1950, USAID and its predecessor agencies have provided scholarships to U.S. universities for more than 4,000 Indonesians and non-degree training to tens of thousands of Indonesians.
