Grants

Three seed grants of $30,000 each will be awarded. To be considered for funding, your project proposals should meet the following criteria:

• Alignment with Program Objectives: Your proposal should align with one, preferably two, of the main objectives of the KUUC Partnership Program.
• Institutional Collaboration: Include up to two U.S. institutions and up to two Kazakh institutions in your proposal. At least one Kazakh institution must be a public university from a city other than Almaty or Astana.
• Sustainability: Articulate a plan that ensures the project’s benefits and operations will continue beyond the initial funding period (will be sustainable in the long run).
• Detailed Budget: Provide a comprehensive budget for the project. Cost-sharing is encouraged.
• Implementation Timeline: Include a detailed timeline for the project’s implementation within six months.

Please note that only one proposal on behalf of the partnership should be submitted via email by either party. If your proposal is selected, IIE will enter into a subaward agreement with the Kazakh partner. Selected seed grant projects will have the opportunity to share their projects and outcomes with the consortium and participate in seed grant-specific monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities.

Deadline: Submit your proposals by October 14, 2024 to Gaukhar Turganbekova at gturganbekova@iie.org. In your proposal submission email, please use the subject line: KUUC Partnership Program Proposal Form – ‘Institution name 1’, ‘Institution name 2’, etc.
