Program directors or campus ROTC commanders may nominate talented ROTC participants for selection each year, following their completion of Project GO or successful participation in The Language Flagship*. Eligible Boren Awards alumni are invited to apply directly. 

We encourage directors/commanders to nominate students who demonstrate aptitude for and commitment to language learning, leadership, and national security. Nominees should exhibit readiness to mentor future officers in the military, and they should represent the diversity found within the cadets and midshipmen of the ROTC community.

Nominations open December 4, 2024 and close on December 13, 2024. Applications will open to nominated candidates on December 16, 2024 and close in mid-February, 2025.

*Note that Language Flagship students must be admitted to a Flagship Capstone program in order to be eligible for the Fellowship.
