Program directors or campus ROTC commanders may nominate talented ROTC participants for selection each year, following their completion of Project GO or successful participation in The Language Flagship*. Eligible Boren Awards alumni are invited to apply directly. 

We encourage directors/commanders to nominate students who demonstrate aptitude for and commitment to language learning, leadership, and national security. Nominees should exhibit readiness to mentor future officers in the military, and they should represent the variety found within the cadets and midshipmen of the ROTC community.

Nominations for summer 2025 Fellows are closed.

*Note that Language Flagship students must be admitted to a Flagship Capstone program in order to be eligible for the Fellowship.
