Benefits: For Students
As a Global E3 student, you will have the opportunity to apply for a semester or year-long exchange at one of our member institutions. Please note you must be currently enrolled in a member institution to apply. A few key components of the program include:
- Tuition Swap: Global E3 students continue to pay tuition at their home institution, honoring any scholarship or financial aid agreement while attending a university abroad.
- Flexible Timing: Students can study abroad for the fall semester, spring semester, or the full academic year.
- Overseas Internships: Global E3 students may be able to partake in a supplemental internship during or after their study abroad experience, depending on their host institution’s ability to provide students with industrial placements near the university, co-op internships within the university, and more.
- Connection to IIE: By participating in the Global E3 program, you are eligible to take advantage of IIE alumni resources and networking opportunities. The Institute of International Education (IIE) is the leader in designing and implementing international education strategies and program services.
The importance of this unique program has been recognized by the National Science Foundation, AT&T Foundation, and the U.S. Department of Education, all of which provided the start-up funds for the program.
