The Dorrance Study Abroad Program
The Dorrance Study Abroad Program is a semester long study abroad experience that introduces students to different cultures, both in theory (academically) and in practice (the study abroad experience itself), thereby contributing to global citizenship. The study abroad program is part of the Dorrance Scholarship Programs which provides scholarships to Arizona and Hawaii residents to complete undergraduate degrees at one of the three public universities of Arizona and the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
About the Dorrance Scholarship Programs
The Dorrance Merit Scholarship was established by Jacquie and Bennett Dorrance at the Arizona Community Foundation in June of 1999. The original gift supported 10 Arizona public university students. What is now known as the Dorrance Scholarship Programs supports as many as 150 recipients at Arizona’s three public universities and, since 2012, at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
