IIE’s Türkiye and Syria Crisis Response
Supporting students so they can stay safely enrolled in school
On February 6, 2023, catastrophic earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria dealt a devastating blow to a region already hit hard by war, conflict, a refugee crisis, and a cholera epidemic. In response, IIE launched our Türkiye and Syria Crisis Response to rush immediate aid to students whose educations and futures were thrown into turmoil due to sudden financial hardship.
Your gift to IIE’s Emergency Student Fund helps these students cover the cost of their essential needs – including education, living expenses, and medical fees – so they can remain enrolled at their academic institutions despite the turmoil in their home countries.
Helping refugee and displaced students access higher education opportunities
The region near the earthquakes’ epicenters is home to hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, and we anticipate the need to support refugee and displaced students in the region will grow substantially.
Join IIE’s Odyssey Scholarship to help forcibly displaced students around the world cover tuition, housing, and living expenses so they may pursue bachelor’s or master’s degrees and launch their dreams.
Together, we can help even more in need of immediate support.
