Our vision is accessible programming and equitable practices in community building that enrich and expand international education, exchange, and opportunity for all.
Mission
Provide IIE expertise on access and equity in international education; focusing on expanding education and skills development and leveraging thought leadership to enrich global learning, programs and partnerships, and access for underrepresented communities.
What We Do
We will strive for our vision and mission by focusing on these three focus areas through dialogue and action and with a global lens. Activities may include workshops, trainings, forums, publications, presentations and speaking engagements, and program development.

IIE and the Council for Opportunity in Education, a U.S.-based nonprofit, partner to support diverse U.S. student participation in study abroad.
IIE and Leaders of the Free World, a U.S.-based nonprofit, partner to boost Black male student participation in study abroad.
IIE and Dickinson College released the Models of Change: Equity and Inclusion in Action in International Education publication providing tactics for de-siloing work and implementing change at various organizational levels.
IIE’s Center for Access and Equity has been selected as a finalist for the PIEoneer Award 2023 for championing diversity, equity and inclusion.
The IIE American Passport Project receives the 2023 AAUA Khaladjan International Award for Innovation in Higher Education.
