Randy Kluver

Alan Randolph (Randy) Kluver is the Associate Provost and Dean of Oklahoma State University Global, Professor in the School of Media and Strategic Communication, and the Don and Cathey Humphreys Endowed Chair in Global Studies. As the senior international officer at OSU, Dr. Kluver has led transformational change in the university’s global positioning and outreach and has revitalized the university’s global outreach and engagement.  Dr. Kluver led the university’s efforts in its pioneering effort to resettle Afghan refugees in Oklahoma.  In addition, Dr. Kluver is an internationally recognized expert on Asian political communication, geopolitics, and new media studies. He has published five books and scores of journal articles globalization, new media studies, soft power, and Asian politics.

Dr. Kluver received his BA from the University of Oklahoma and his Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Southern California. He has had previous appointments at Jiangxi Normal University (China), the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and Texas A&M University. He received a Fulbright administrator grant and has held a visiting fellowship at Canterbury University in New Zealand. Dr. Kluver has generated over 11 million USD of funding for his work in international education, new media studies, and geopolitical analysis.
