Private University Scholarships
The U.S.-Egypt Higher Education Initiative is an investment in Egypt’s future that provides educational opportunities for high-achieving Egyptians to learn skills that will better meet the needs of a 21st century economy. In partnership with the Government of Egypt and the private sector, the U.S. Government will provide thousands of Egyptians with access to higher education opportunities in Egypt and the United States and facilitate strategic partnerships in key fields to strengthen Egypt’s economy.
The Private University Scholarship program seeks to offer comprehensive scholarships in 2015 to up to 65 talented and deserving Egyptian students to obtain undergraduate degrees from Egyptian private universities in fields of studies that are important to Egypt’s current and future development.

LOTUS Scholarship Program
The LOTUS Scholarship Program offers comprehensive scholarship packages to talented and deserving Egyptian students to obtain undergraduate degrees from Egyptian private universities in fields of studies that are important to Egypt’s current and future development. The LOTUS Scholarship Program is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with the support of the American people. The Program is managed by the Institute of International Education (IIE) through its’ MENA Region Office based in Cairo, Egypt in partnership with a consortium of Egyptian private universities and local organizations.

University Scholarship Opportunity for Syrian Refugees
The Institute of International Education (IIE) is pleased to announce it is now accepting applications from Syrian youth, both women and men, for a small number of scholarships to Syrian refugee youth for undergraduate university studies at public universities in Jordan. The successful applicants will be awarded scholarships to help enable them to complete their undergraduate degrees, with duration and amount varying based on the needs of the students. Housing will not be included in any of the scholarships.
IIE will select students using the following criteria:
Necessary qualifications:
- currently live in a refugee camp or elsewhere in Jordan.
- registered as a refugee with UNHCR.
- have completed at least three, preferably four or five semesters, of full time undergraduate education in good standing, in Syria, Jordan, or another country.
- have all original documents required by the Jordanian universities for enrollment or re-enrollment.
Preferred qualifications:
- majoring in fields of study that could be particularly useful to the Syrian refugee community after graduation, such as education (including teaching), social work, sciences (including but not limited to nursing and psychology), and languages (English, Arabic, and other languages).
- have a proven track record of community service and committed to community service upon completion of a university degree.
NOTE: Only students who have successfully completed at least three semesters of university study in Syria, Jordan, or another country will be eligible for the scholarships. Students who have not completed at least three semesters of study are not eligible; however, IIE and its partners hope to be able to provide additional scholarships in the future that would allow students with different profiles to apply.

برنامج من المخيم الى الجامعة
منح للدراسة الجامعية للآجئين السوريين
يسر معهد التعليم الدولي إعلان قبول الطلبات من شباب وشابات من اللآجئين السوريين، لإعطاء بعض المنح لهم، لهدف إكمال دراستهم الجامعية (البكالوريوس) في جامعات حكومية في الأردن. المقبولين من المتقدمين سيتم اعطائهم منح لإكمال دراستهم الجامعية الأولية (البكالوريوس)، وستكون قيمة المنح وفتراتها متفاوتة، حسب حاجة الطلبة المقبولين. لن يتم تأمين السكن ضمن هذه المنح.
سيتم انتقاء الطلبة بناء على المعايير التالية:
المؤهلات المطلوبة:
- مقيم حاليا في مخيم للآجئين أو أي مكان آخر في الأردن.
- مسجل كلاجئ مع المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللآجئين (UNHCR).
- أكمل بنجاح ما لا يقل عن ثلاثة فصول دراسية جامعية (ويفضل أربع أو خمسة فصول) في سوريا أو الأردن أو أي دولة أخرى.
- يحمل جميع الوثائق الأصلية المطلوبة للتسجيل أو إعادة التسجيل في الجامعات الأردنية.
المؤهلات المفضل تواجدها:
- يعتزم انهاء دراسته في مجال يمكن أن يفيد به اللآجئين السوريين بعد التخرج، مثل التعليم (من ضمنه التدريس)،أو خدمة المجتمع، أو العلوم (من ضمنها التمريض و علم النفس)، أو اللغات (اللغة الإنجليزية أو العربية أو غيرها).
- ما يثبت خدمة المجتمع و الإلتزام بخدمة المجتمع بعد انهاء الدراسة.
ملاحظة: المؤهلين للتقديم هم فقط الطلبة الذين أكملوا بنجاح ما لا يقل عن ثلاثة فصول دراسية جامعية في سوريا أو الأردن أو أي دولة أخرى. الطلبة الذين لم يكملوا على الأقل ثلاثة فصول دراسية غير مؤهلين للتقديم، ولكن يأمل معهد التعليم الدولي بالتعاون مع شركائه أن يتمكن من تقديم منح إضافية في المستقبل والتي ستساعد الطلبة الآخرين على التقديم.
Fordham Law LLM Scholarship
The Institute of International Education Egypt is excited to announce its collaboration with Fordham Law School in New York City:
Each year, one student from Egypt will receive a scholarship to cover 40% of tuition for the one-year full-time Master of Laws program.
Fordham Law School, known for its warm and welcoming environment, offers the Master of Laws degree in seven fields that are at the cutting edge of the global practice of law in the 21st Century:
- Banking, Corporate, and Finance Law
- Corporate Compliance
- International Business and Trade Law
- International Dispute Resolution
- International Law and Justice

- U.S. and Comparative Law
Each of these programs allows students to combine theoretical study with practical experience through drafting and other skills courses and clinical and externship opportunities—all in the heart of New York City, the most vibrant legal and commercial market in the United States.

LIFT-OFF
The LIFT-OFF Initiative was awarded to the Institute of International Education (IIE) by the U.S. Department of State Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) in September 2010 to foster a culture of entrepreneurship among youth across North Africa. LIFT-OFF is implemented by the IIE Regional Office in Cairo in partnership with Endeavor Egypt, a global nonprofit that promotes high-impact entrepreneurship.
The LIFT-OFF Initiative features activities that target MENA region youth across three age tiers (16-18; 19-24; 25-35) to promote and support entrepreneurship as a viable career-choice for young people. Activities include the creation of entrepreneurial e-moment documentaries, a virtual IdeaLab, contests and competitions at schools and universities, capacity building for university and youth entrepreneurial support centers, an Entrepreneurial Leadership Program for university students, and Endeavor Egypt support for high potential young entrepreneurs as they enter the market. LIFT-OFF was officially launched during Global Entrepreneurship Week in Cairo on November 5, 2010 through an event for youth and key stakeholders featuring high impact Egyptian entrepreneurs.

Discovery Program
Launched in October 2006, Discovery is an independent, semester-long, extracurricular program of leadership learning activities designed for public university students in Egypt. The Program is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE) Center for Leadership Excellence based in Cairo in partnership with Keys to Effective Learning and Creative Encounters. The Program’s development and pilot semesters were made possible through a generous grant by the Ford Foundation Regional Office in Cairo.
YELLA
The YELLA-Youth Enrichment for Leadership Learning and Action Program provides preparatory and secondary schools, youth centers, and university career centers—both private and public—a curriculum of leadership learning lessons and resources that builds their capacity to deliver youth leadership programming in the future. YELLA is empowering the participating students and educators to think about leadership in new ways, to take initiative with responsibility for their own actions, and to actively volunteer in their communities.

USAID Peace Scholarships
The USAID MENA Peace Scholarships Program is helping to foster a new generation of leaders in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by developing leadership skills, US linkages, and academic excellence. The program provides youth from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Yemen, West Bank and Gaza, with one year of undergraduate study in the United States. Leadership training, community service, regional networking and other skill-building opportunities help provide these future leaders with the potential to contribute to the social and economic development of the region and strengthen ties with the United States.

USAID Egypt MBA Program
This USAID funded program supports the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP) in Egypt by providing full, two-year scholarships for 25 talented MOHP professionals seeking MBA degrees in healthcare management.
Designed to develop a cadre of business-minded professionals within the ministry, the FORECAST MBA program provides an opportunity for MOHP employees not only to develop their business acumen at top-ranked MBA programs, but also to get practical experience with leading U.S. based private, public and non-profit health organizations through internship experiences and community service projects.

Egypt Fellowships Program
The “Egypt Fellowships Program” was established by the Arab Republic of Egypt in partnership with Harvard University, to provide exceptionally bright Egyptians the opportunity to advance their graduate studies in government, public health, education or architectural/urban development design.

ExxonMobil MENA
The ExxonMobil Middle East and North Africa Scholars Program is a highly competitive scholarship program which provides select student leaders from the Middle East and North Africa with a fully-funded scholarship towards the completion of a degree at a college or university in the United States. The Program is managed by the IIE Southern Regional Center in Houston with assistance from the IIE MENA Region Office.
The ExxonMobil Middle East and North Africa Scholars Program offers scholarship opportunities to pursue a Master’s degree in geoscience for students who have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Math or Geography.

The Global Initiative for Breast Cancer Awareness in Egypt
The Global Initiative for Breast Cancer Awareness in Egypt is a USAID-funded program managed by the Institute of International Education (IIE) West Coast Center in collaboration with the IIE MENA Region Office, local partners, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. The primary goal of the Global Initiative is to create a dynamic global network of dedicated activists with the skills, knowledge and vision to play a strategic role in shaping their country’s response to breast cancer. The primary components of the Initiative are the Course for the Cure™ (CFTC), a Community Educator Program, and community grants and related trainings. The CFTC focuses on five thematic areas: Community Assessment, Volunteer and Organization Development, Awareness & Education, Fundraising, and Advocacy. Target communities include Greater Cairo, the Delta (Alexandria), and Upper Egypt (Luxor).
