Stephanie B. Mudick
Retired, Executive Vice President, JPMorgan Chase and Co.Stephanie Mudick is a Senior Risk and Controls Executive, recently retired from J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., with a 27 year career in the global financial services industry. She has extensive experience driving and implementing strategies for critical and complex regulatory and other control initiatives, transforming key business and corporate processes to align business goals with regulatory and risk focused mandates. She has supervised the restructuring and recalibration of major operations through extremely demanding industry challenges, with a focus on multiple stakeholder interests, particularly on the customer experience.
Recent Significant Achievements
— Overseeing an end to end overhaul of the mortgage servicing business in the post financial crisis environment, designing and managing the execution of JPMorgan’s mortgage related settlement agreements (reconfiguring numerous operations to better focus on the customer experience and satisfy extensive new requirements, and providing over $20 billion of consumer relief across the United States over a three year period)
— Co-architect of the firm’s global Culture and Conduct program across wholesale and retail businesses globally, analyzing the firm’s approach to compensation, accountability and governance at all employee levels, including customer facing, operational and corporate function employees
— Key driver of the design and development of the firm’s end to end controls infrastructure, including evaluating and reframing governance policies, procedures and processes, such as MIS to the Board and senior management for, among many others, critical areas of operational risk and new business initiatives
— Serving as spokesperson for the firm, providing testimony on Capitol Hill and with many of the firm’s stakeholders, including investors and regulators, for whom she was the firm’s Chief Point of Contact
— Managing Conflicts of Interest for and across the firm, with particular focus on capital markets, advisory and institutional businesses

–EVP and Head of Regulatory Strategy, setting and managing the global regulatory agenda for the firm across all of its geographies, businesses and products, driving the execution of its most significant regulatory deliverables and related control initiatives (2010-2019)
— EVP and Head of Global Retail Strategy, making and managing majority and minority investments in consumer businesses outside the United States with a focus on BRIC countries and Mexico (2008-2010)
1993-2008 Citigroup, Inc.
— EVP, CAO and Head of Consumer Operations of the Global Consumer Group, managing customer facing operations, marketing, human resources, government relations, legal and other functions in a business providing banking, lending, insurance and investment services to individuals and small businesses in over 50 countries, with $12 billion in earnings (2005-2008)
— Co-General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Citigroup, managing a global legal and compliance organization of approximately 1400 employees, and predecessor jobs in the Legal Department (1993-2005)
In both companies, Stephanie served on senior management committees, including JPMorgan’s Executive Committee and the Management Committee of Retail Financial Services (subsequently renamed CCB, the Consumer and Community Banking business), and at Citigroup on the firm’s Management Committee and the Management Committee of the Global Consumer Group. She also regularly engaged with and advised both Boards of Directors and various Board Committees.
Stephanie has served on two public company Boards of Directors, The Student Loan Corporation (NYSE:STU) and Ixe Grupo Financiero (BMV:IXE), and numerous not for profit Boards, including City Year New York, which she chaired for six years.
Stephanie has an AB from Smith College and a JD from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University.
