As a consortium partner of the new United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Research Technical Assistance Center (RTAC), the Institute of International Education (IIE) is proud to announce the launch of the application portal to join the RTAC network.
RTAC is a global network of academic researchers, providing rapid and on-demand research expertise for USAID to promote evidence-based policies and programs. Through research, specialized training, and short-term technical assistance, RTAC will advance the impact of USAID’s development investments in a variety of sectors, worldwide.
RTAC is a growing network of university researchers comprised of 254 graduate and post-doctoral students, lecturers, and faculty affiliated with 121 organizations around the world. Our growing network is both individually and institutionally diverse, featuring female researchers and those affiliated with US Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) and developing country universities.
Members of the RTAC network have opportunities to work with other researchers across the United States and in countries where USAID works, may be invited to present as part of expert panels, and have access to innovative tools and resources that can help maximize the policy-and-program-related impact of their research. Researchers accepted to the RTAC network will be granted access to short-term, USAID-funded research opportunities for global development.
Applications to apply to join the RTAC network are now available on the application portal.
RTAC is a part of USAID’s Higher Education Solutions Network (HESN) 2.0 portfolio of programs, which is managed by the agency’s U.S. Global Development Lab. The four-year contract is led by NORC at the University of Chicago in collaboration with its twelve partners, including IIE.
IIE is managing the application and selection process to join the RTAC network and is involved in the outreach and selection process for RTAC research opportunities.
To learn more about RTAC and eligibility requirements, please visit the RTAC website and contact RTAC@NORC.org with questions about the RTAC network and RTAC@IIE.org with questions about the application process.
Please note, the registration process for US citizens and those living in the US is undergoing review by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to ensure compliance with federal regulations around the collection, management, storage and use of personal information. Upon the completion of this review, US citizens and those living in the US will be able to register to join the RTAC network. US citizens and those living in the US who are interested in joining the RTAC network are encouraged to follow RTAC at https://www.rtachesn.org/.
