Goldman Sachs Global Leader Andy Cunningham is passionate about children’s rights and education.
After graduating from Duke in 2008, he went to Kenya to serve as Executive Director of WISER, the Women’s Institute for Secondary Education and Research. The school, which Andy co-founded as part of a service project, and for which he secured a Social Entrepreneurship Fund grant from the Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program, aims to guarantee girls a safe and effective education so they may attend college.
Cunningham was named a Truman Scholar based on his academic success, leadership potential and commitment to public service. In addition to his summer in Kenya, he has also studied in China and volunteered at Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta.
