The Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Program was established in 2000 by a grant from The Goldman Sachs Foundation to the Institute of International Education. The program supports the preparation of talented second-year university students from all disciplines for distinctive service to society and their future professions. Each year competitions are held worldwide to identify 100 exceptional young people who demonstrate superior character, academic achievement, and extracurricular accomplishments.
Fifty of these outstanding students have been selected to attend the program’s annual Global Leadership Institute in New York City, which will take place from July 13-17th, 2003. Two IIE Trustees, Maria Livanos Cattaui (Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce) and Dr. George Rupp (President of the International Rescue Committee) will speak at this year’s Institute. In addition, the Global Leadership Institute program will feature speakers such as Leonard Lauder, CEO of Estee Lauder Companies, Inc. and senior executives from Goldman, Sachs & Co.
