Developing Cultural Context and Intercultural Enterpremeurship Competencties

Program Overview Members of minority populations in both the United States and Brazil have traditionally lacked exposure to international business opportunities. In program host regions in Brazil, the need to cultivate international entrepreneurs is urgent. The Developing Cultural Context and Intercultural Entrepreneurship Competencies program serves U.S. and Brazilian institutions committed to cultivating international entrepreneurs from minority groups in both countries. Selected in a highly competitive process, U.S. and Brazilian students learn international trade through a bilingual inter-institutional curriculum and internships at Brazilian and American companies, under the mentorship of executives and business owners. Participating institutions include a number of community partners, Voorhees and Paul Quinn Colleges in the United States, and Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica in Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, Bahia, in Brazil.
The project is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Fund for Improvement of Post Secondary Education (FIPSE) with a matching grant from the Brazilian Ministry of Education (CAPES).
