What are the U.S. Study Tour Programs?
The Japan Intercultural Academy of Municipalities (JIAM), a training institute near Kyoto, Japan, seeks to develop the professional management skills of Japanese government employees to effectively respond to issues of globalization. Two of JIAM’s courses designed for civil servants to explore international and public policy issues involve a U.S. Study Tour, which takes place at the end of October. IIE works with JIAM to design and facilitate these study tours, which allow trainees to visit the U.S. and participate in a range of professional activities.
