The U.S. Department of State sponsors the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program in coordination with the Institute of International Education (IIE), U.S. Embassies and Consulates, Fulbright Commissions and other partners overseas.
Independent Study Abroad for Teachers
The Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program recognizes and encourages excellence in teaching in the U.S. and abroad. U.S. and international teachers receive grants to study at a university, observe classes and complete a project pertaining to their field of educational inquiry during their time abroad. The program is open to teachers from the United States and selected countries in multiple world regions.

The Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program 2014-15 invites universities to submit a proposal for hosting approximately 18 international participants in the program for the fall 2014 semester.
