Voluntary Emissions Reduction and NGO Participation in China

The research is focused on finding ways to encourage the government of China to attach more importance to civil solutions to climate change, such as voluntary emissions reduction and NGO participation. There are currently barriers in China to establish a voluntary emissions reduction system. Through literature review, field research and interviews, the research team is conducting an analysis of these problems looking at the past, present and the potential for future voluntary emissions reduction in China. This information will be used to make suggestions on public policy with regard to establishing a comprehensive voluntary emissions reduction system in China.
